E360 Executive Director, Cordie Aziz Talks Trash in Business Daily

Environment360's Executive Director, was recently featured in the Business Daily discussing the success of Environment360's recycling program in Ghana. Ms. Aziz, first developed the concept of a community recycling program in 2015, when the organization was hosting tours at one of its first projects, The Wheel Story House.

Through interactions with community members, Ms. Aziz quickly noticed the opportunity available to create a recycling program that was targeted and efficient.

"It never failed that whenever parents attended tours with their children at the Wheel Story House they would ask if we had a recycling program. After getting asked numerous times, we decided to do some research and see how we could make recycling options accessible to community members."

That research quickly turned into action, as Environment360 started collecting plastics at the Green Market, which was then based at Kaya. Within two years of the launch, Environment360 worked with private sector and the Australian High Commission to provide a total of 60 recycling bins around the city.  The next focus on the Environment360 agenda, is residential and corporate recycling.

"We strongly believe that individuals that can afford recycling should be responsible citizens and help subsidize programs for those who can't, says the Executive Director, Cordie Aziz."

The organization has already had success breaking into the corporate sector, attracting clients such as PwC, the Norwegian Embassy,  Swissport. APM terminals and FES to name a few.

The organization also offers free residential pick-up to those community members that chose to become members of Environment360. Membership fees start off at GHS 300 and help Environment360 cover the cost of its school programs and administrative overhead.

Since the inception of Environment360, the organization has kept more than 120 tons of plastic and nearly 200 tons of paper from landfills and communities.
